Revitalizing Fallon’s Frazzini Building: A Public Services Hub for the Community

What was once a furniture store in the heart of downtown Fallon is now home to some of Churchill County’s most critical departments. The historic Frazzini Furniture building at 270 South Maine Street has been fully renovated and reimagined as a centralized location for Social Services and the Public Works, Planning & Building departments—making it easier than ever for residents and contractors to access key county services.

Originally built in 1921, the Frazzini Building had long stood as a local landmark, but its potential as a modern civic space had gone untapped. That changed in 2023, when Churchill County purchased the building with a plan to streamline service delivery and bring more public-facing departments into a single, accessible space downtown.

Nevada Strategies’ Jim Barbee played a key role in the development and renovation process, working closely with county leadership to ensure the building met both modern needs and historic preservation standards. The consolidation has already improved efficiency for staff and convenience for residents, who can now handle everything from building permits to social support services in one stop.

Beyond improving access to county services, the project also gives new life to one of Fallon’s historic properties. “The county is pleased to be part of preserving some of the history by revitalizing the Frazzini Building for use by some of our departments to serve our citizens while driving more people downtown,” Barbee said, adding that about 20 county staff are in the building between the two departments. Thanks to the combined efforts of Churchill County and Nevada Strategies, the Frazzini Building stands once again as a cornerstone of the community—this time, as a hub for progress and public service.
