Bruce Breslow: A Driving Force Behind Northern Nevada’s Housing Growth
Over the past 30 years, Bruce Breslow has been a central figure in shaping housing and multifamily development across Northern Nevada. Through strong collaboration with developers, local governments, and community stakeholders, he has worked to address the region’s expanding housing demands amid rapid population growth.
During his time as Director of the Nevada Department of Business & Industry, Breslow oversaw 14 state agencies, including Housing. Under his leadership, the Nevada Housing Division went from last in the nation to first in housing loans. Other significant achievements include helping secure Northern Nevada’s first 80/20 housing bond and bringing the nation’s largest homebuilder, D.R. Horton, to Fallon, where he worked to identify optimal land and led the rezoning efforts that enabled a large multifamily project in Churchill County.
Known for his forward-thinking leadership, Breslow has focused on creating balanced housing solutions that emphasize affordability, sustainability, and responsiveness to market needs. His strategic vision has played a crucial role in streamlining development processes and guiding communities through the complexities of urban expansion, while ensuring new developments support a range of residents — from first-time homebuyers to renters seeking multifamily options.
Thanks to Breslow’s leadership, housing development has become a major contributor to Northern Nevada’s economic and community growth. His work continues to influence the region’s housing landscape, helping to improve availability and quality for residents while supporting sustainable growth.
